Balance; the way we use this word, may make the experience of it, seem impossible. There is always some aspect of our lives that appear to require the majority of our time and attention. Family, children, work, education, our health and well-being; are all worthy of our mental and emotional focus. So it makes us wonder if balance is a state of life any of us can achieve.

If we look at the word from a new and clearer point of view; one of Google’s definitions of the word “balance” when used as a verb, is “to put something in a steady position so that it does not fall”. If we look at it this way; creating balance in your life, is to strengthen and fortify yourself with tender loving care and attention, so that you are equipped to handle that which is before you. It also helps for you to realize, that you cannot do everything at once. You need to assess which aspects of your life require the most attention, in the present moment. Being practical about how much time and energy you have, will also be a tremendous help in creating balance in your life.

So, how do you “put yourself in a steady position…”, so that you don’t fall flat on your face from exhaustion or feelings of being overwhelmed? You begin by making yourself a priority in your own life. Too many times, we are our last concern. We take a break or pamper ourselves, once we are so depleted, we no longer have the energy to move forward. Secondly, we must pay attention to our emotional and spiritual health; I guarantee you, that if you are vibrant and healthy, emotionally and spiritually, you will have much better chances of being vibrant and healthy, physically as well.

Andie and I are so thrilled to have been reintroduced to doTerra Essential Oils, because the company and the product are a perfect match to that which we believe and practice daily. We are working with their essential oil blend, called Balance, and benefiting from its grounding effects. Often, when we are running around like crazy people trying to juggle and keep all of life’s balls up in the air; we feel as if we are being tossed into the air along with them; leaving us tired and disoriented. Having a sense of balance in life, grounds us into the space of the present moment; allowing us room for clarity and creative vision.

Moving forward, see if it helps you to see creating balance in your life, NOT as taking time and attention away from other important people and activities; but instead, as a commitment to be grounded, strengthened, and fortified, when any part of your life calls your name.
